The 2025 edition of BIFA’s Standard Trading Conditions came into effect on 1 January 2026, replacing the previous version from 2021.
As a BIFA member, AWL operates under these updated conditions, which reflect the realities of today’s trading environment.

A new framework for a changing market
The new edition has been introduced in response to major shifts in the UK’s trading landscape. There’s been a significant increase in customs-related activity, along with ongoing turbulence in global trade.
With increased complexity comes increased risk. The updated conditions are designed to provide a clearer, more robust framework that protects all parties and reflects how international logistics operates today.
What this means for you
The Standard Trading Conditions outline key areas such as liability limits, claims timeframes, customs responsibilities and the structure under which services are provided.
In simple terms, they create clarity. They ensure there’s a shared understanding of responsibilities and expectations when moving goods domestically and internationally.
At AWL, we remain committed to delivering compliant, transparent and professional logistics solutions. If you’d like a copy of the 2025 BIFA Standard Trading Conditions or want to understand how the updates may affect your operations, our team is here to help.
As we move further into 2026, staying informed is key. We’ll continue to keep you updated every step of the way.
