There were four days of strike action in December, and there’s more to come.
Workers employed by Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) will renew industrial action in a dispute over wages and working conditions. The strike heralds another month of disruption at the airport. Unite, the UK’s principal aviation union, which represents the workers at HAL, has already announced strikes for February 9, 13, 16 and 18.
It’s likely that further industrial action will be announced shortly.
Who's involved?
The targeted action will involve a wide section of airport workers:
Firefighters
Engineers
campus security
baggage operations
central terminal operations
landside operations
airside operations
However, Unite is taking a flexible approach to the strike action with different groups of workers embarking on strike action at different times.
