It’s fair to say that logistics firms such as AWL have been directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Supply chain disruptions to the sector have had an impact on competitiveness, economic growth, and job creation.
However, it’s not all bleak news.
For the most part, governments have responded in a positive fashion. They have designated ports, shipping, and trucking services as essential, ensuring they remain exempt from lockdown measures. And although many airports around the world are closed to passenger flights, most are still open to cargo.
Closer collaboration between governments and logistics companies has also been necessary to address supply chain bottlenecks and facilitate clearances. This can only be good for business.
At AWL, we have been adapting our service offerings to current demand and safety protocols. And it’s definitely working well for us. In the last four months, we have invested in the following new staff members:
Regional Development Manager (Scotland)
National Development Manager (Manchester)
Far East Route Development Manager (LHR)
Senior Commercial Manager (London HQ)
US Route Development Manager (planned for Q1 2021)
So, it’s safe to say that AWL is looking forward to 2021 with enthusiasm. The future is looking bright.
