AWL is keen to give something back to the community which supports us. As such, we have been looking for a local charity that fits with our philosophy and gives us a chance to be a force for positive change. White Lodge was just the charity we were looking for.
This local charity does some truly wonderful work. White Lodge provides services that enable those with a range of disabilities, their families and carers to lead fulfilling lives. They support over 2,500 individuals across Surrey and beyond, making a real difference to everyone they touch.
A wide range of facilities
White Lodge is based on a wonderful two-acre site in Chertsey in three specialist buildings with great facilities and services for all ages:
· physiotherapy
· occupational therapy
· speech and language therapy
· specialist nursery
· hydrotherapy
· holiday clubs
· personal support in the home
· short breaks (respite)
· fitness and rehabilitation
· trips out & acitvities
Through individual assessments our teams of highly experienced staff enable those with disabilities to reach their potential through tailored programmes.
Raising funds
However, all this comes at a price. It costs over £2.5 million a year to run White Lodge and the costs are not fully met by statutory funding. They rely on voluntary donations to maintain vital services and currently fundraise for over £550,000 per year.
Get involved
There are many ways to get involved, including volunteering and fundraising or through community groups, schools and local businesses who can partner through a range of schemes and opportunities.
