Optimism Rewarded: A Strong First Half

Greetings to all our much-valued customers and partners in the UK and wherever you are located around the globe.

As I write, we have almost reached the halfway point of the year, having experienced our first heatwave of the summer, with temperatures hitting 36 degrees Celsius, or, in 'old money', nearly 97 degrees Fahrenheit, which, for the UK, is very hot for us Northern Europeans! Aircon is the exception, as opposed the norm in most places so it can be a little tough at times. But I am not complaining. We get our fair share of rain, wind, and snow throughout the year, so a sustained period of heat is more than welcome. So let us hope this can continue throughout the summer.

You will recall that my first blog of 2026, back in January, was filled with optimism and our usual very positive tone. I am very happy to confirm that our optimism has been rewarded with an excellent first half of the year, with revenue increases across the board and all regions continuing to outperform the same period in 2025.

We are also pleased to advise that, as the sunshine arrives, we continue to recruit new team members, with fresh faces appearing in Exeter, Glasgow and Birmingham. They’ll be introduced in upcoming editions of this blog. If there are any readers out there with the required skill set and ambition who wish to join one of the largest independently owned forwarding and logistics companies in the UK, please do not hesitate to drop me a line. We would love to hear from you.

Finally, and with the Football World Cup about to kick off, may I take this opportunity to wish both England and Scotland football teams well as they battle through the many games (hopefully) coming up in the heat of Mexico and the USA over the next five weeks. Keeping fingers crossed!

Happy reading, and remember that if we focus on the positive aspects of life, we can expect favourable results!  David Stevens CEO
